We believe that education is the key to fostering a culture of safety and health to heighten awareness and keep young people safe and healthy in the home, school, community and workplace. Here you will find safety and health material aimed at delivering key messages to young people for delivery through the school system.

We continue to develop safety and health courses for teachers which can be delivered through traditional classroom participation and also through our e-learning programme.

Student Safety in the Workplace – Transition Unit

The health and safety Transition Unit ‘Student Safety in the Workplace’introduces students to the principles of workplace safety and health. It is aimed at Transition Year students  (and other senior cycle students) as a preparation for the world of work and is particular relevant for those undertaking some form of work experience. The unit is relevant to all students as future members of the work force.

‘Choose Safety’ Programme

Choose Safety Programme (Transition/Senior Cycle Years):
Choose Safety – An Educational Programme on the principles of Health and Safety in the Workplace for Students. This course is a comprehensive 20 hour teaching resource, which includes teacher and student workbooks, and is specifically aimed at Transition Year, Leaving Certificate Applied, Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme and Post Leaving Certificate Students.Read more


Health and Safety Matters for Students embarking on work experience – a short guide for teachers. 

This guide will assist teachers in preparing their students for the health and safety aspect of their work experience programme. It offers practical information and advice on workplace health and safety that can be taught and discussed with students in the classroom before they embark on work experience.
