Annex XVII of REACH

All restrictions on the manufacture, placing on the market and use of certain dangerous substances, mixtures and articles are contained in Annex XVII to the REACH Regulation (No. 1907/2006).

Annex XVII to REACH has been amended by:

  1. Commission Regulation (EC) No. 552/2009 of 22 June 2009 amending REACH as regards Annex XVII;
  2. Commission Regulation (EU) No. 276/2010 of 31 March 2010 amending REACH as regards Annex XVII (dichloromethane, lamp oils and grill lighter fluids and organostannic compounds);
  3. Commission Regulation (EU) No. 207/2011 of 2 March 2011 amending REACH as regards Annex XVII (diphenylether, pentabromo derivative and PFOS);
  4. Commission Regulation (EU) No. 366/2011 of 14 April 2011 amending REACH as regards Annex XVII (acrylamide).
  5. Commission Regulation (EU) No 494/2011 of 20 May 2011 amending REACH as regards Annex XVII (cadmium).

 

Background

Title VIII and Annex XVII of the replaced the Marketing and Use Directive 76/769/EEC and its amendments as of 1st June 2009.

Prior to 1st June 2009 the Marketing and Use Directive 76/769/EC, amendments and adaptations have been transposed into Irish law by the following pieces of legislation:

  5. European Communities (Dangerous Substances and Preparations) (Marketing and Use) (Amendment) Regulations 2007: S.I. No. 746 of 2007
  6. European Communities (Dangerous Substances and Preparations) (Marketing and Use) (Amendment) Regulations 2008: S.I. No. 371 of 2008

The European Communities (Dangerous Substances and Preparations) (Marketing and Use) (Revocation) Regulations 2010, (S.I. No. 633 of 2010) revoke S.I No. 220 of 2003, S.I. No. 503 of 2003, S.I. No. 852 of 2004, S.I. No. 364 of 2006, S.I. No. 746 of 2007, and S.I. No. 371 of 2008.
