The Health and Safety Authority has a wide and varied mandate which includes acting as the national body with responsibility for protecting all workers nationwide from work-related incidents, injuries and ill health. The Authority acts as the national accreditation body for Ireland through INAB.

Inspector Grade II – Environmental Risk Assessment (Chemicals)

This role will involve working in the area of risk assessment of chemical substances under the REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals). The role involves evaluating the level of risk to the environment (and man via the environment) posed by chemical substances, based on an understanding of use patterns, exposure information and other data, and taking account of the efficiency of end-of-pipe environmental control techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating scientific information and preparing scientific opinions.  This post requires flexibility, and in addition to the following responsibilities, must be prepared to undertake such other duties as may be assigned to them including EU Travel.

Incremental salary scale: €69,518  rising to  €84,778
