The Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive [TPED]
Both the ADR and Directive 2010/35/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on Transportable Pressure Equipment (2010 TPED) are given effect in Ireland by means of the EC (Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment) Regulations 2011, S.I. 349 of 2011 (as amended). The aim of the TPED is to promote the free movement of transportable pressure equipment (TPE) within the European Community.
The Health and Safety Authority has prepared a document which provides background and guidance in relation to the TPED.

This document covers different aspects of the TPED, including

- Its scope, exclusions and the implementation dates for the various types of TPE,
- What is required of conformity assessment bodies and inspection bodies for pressure receptacles and tanks,
