Notification of Intention to Dive

Note: As of the 1st May 2019, notification of intention to dive is no longer required.
Under the Safety in Industry (Diving Operations) Regulations, 1981, there is a legal requirement to notify the Health and Safety Authority in writing of the intention to dive. The notification must be received by the Authority, 21 days prior to carrying out any diving operations to which the regulations apply.
Notification may be made using the Notification of Intention to Dive Form (PDF 45KB opens in new window) or by other suitable methods. If using an alternative method it is a legal requirement that the information submitted includes the name of the person who is carrying out the operation and the place at which it is intended to carry out the operations.
