How do I make an FOI Request?
A request must be in writing to the FOI Officer, Health and Safety Authority, Metropolitan Building, James Joyce Street, Dublin 1. Requests can also be made by email to foi@hsa.ie. A formal acknowledgement of your request will be issued within 10 working days. The acknowledgement will provide further details on when you can expect to receive a decision in relation to your request.
Correspondence including a decision will normally issue from HSA-eFOI@cloud.gov.ie. If you are expecting mail regarding a request and have not yet received it, please check any spam and junk mail folders for mail from HSA-eFOI@cloud.gov.ie This mailbox is automated and unmonitored please do not respond to it, please send any email to FOI@hsa.ie
In order to access records relating to another person, their written authorisation and proof of identity must accompany the request.
When you make a request you must:
- Specify that the request is being made under the Freedom of Information Act 2014
- Give enough details of the desired records so they can be identified, i.e. the names of record, date etc. In cases where the HSA is not clear what records are being requested it will request further details from you.
- If you are seeking information which is personal, you will be required to supply the appropriate identification as required by the decision maker.
