Chemicals Importer Information Sheet
Under EU Chemical Regulations, companies who import chemical products from outside the EU have several obligations to fulfil before they can access the EU market. The key responsibilities of EU importers of substances, mixtures and/or articles under the REACH, CLP and Prior Informed Consent (PIC) Regulations, for which the Health and Safety Authority is the relevant Competent Authority in Ireland, are outlined here.

RCV Inspection Campaign 2024 - Findings
In July 2024, the Authority conducted a focused inspection campaign on Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs). Twenty-five different RCV operators were inspected. The inspection campaign targeted the provision and wearing of high visibility clothing, driver blind spots and compliance of man-riding footboards with the Irish Standard I.S. EN1501-1:2021.
