1 ADR 6.2.5, 22.214.171.124 and 126.96.36.199 provide that in order to reflect scientific and technical progress or where no standard is referenced in 6.2.2, 6.2.4, 188.8.131.52 or 184.108.40.206, or to deal with specific aspects not addressed in a standard referenced in 6.2.2, 6.2.4, 220.127.116.11 or 18.104.22.168, the competent authority of an ADR Contracting Party may recognise the use of a technical code providing the same level of safety.
2 IS EN 12094-4:2004 is available from the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI).
3 As there is no standard for the design, construction and testing of portable tanks and UN multiple element gas containers (MEGCs) referenced in ADR Chapter 6.7, the requirements for alternative arrangements for the design, construction and testing requirements and methods other than those in Chapter 6.7 may be recognised by the competent authority in accordance with 6.7.2, 6.7.3, 6.7.4. and 6.7.5.
