Head of State Mining Authorities Meetings

The Heads of State Mining Authorities meeting brings together the Senior Person from each European Country on an annual basis to discuss issues relating to health, safety, the environment and mining licensing.

The 20th Meeting of the Head of State Mining Authorities was held in the City North Hotel in Dublin on the 9th and 10th of October 2014. Presentations about major mining incidents and mines rescue were given by speakers from Austria, Estonia, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia and Romania.

The 20th Meeting identified the benefits of sharing information on Mines Rescue Services, Mines Rescue Equipment and major deployments of mines rescue personnel to attend to incidents and the outcomes of such intervention and the continued cooperation between the European State Mining Authorities concerning both mutually important specific topics and also general topics of current interest including mutual assistance in all matters including emergency response preparedness and resulted in the agreement of a signed memorandum
