    Code of Practice for Avoiding Danger from Underground Services

    This Code of Practice is a result of a joint initiative between the Health and Safety Authority, Construction Industry Federation, Irish Congress of Trade Unions, key utility companies/service providers and local authorities that are involved in the provision and maintenance of vital underground services. It provides practical guidance to assist in complying with safety, health and welfare legislation requiring that adequate precautions are taken in any excavation, shaft, earthwork, underground works or tunnel to avoid risk to persons at work arising from possible underground dangers. It replaces the Code of Practice for Avoiding Danger from Underground Services issued by the Authority in 2005.
