The Authority achieved a challenging and broad programme of work in 2014. Across the areas of workplace health and safety and chemicals regulation, we continued our approach of supporting Irish enterprise, primarily through the provision of information and advice, and through enforcement where necessary.

Trends and Patterns in Occupational Health and Safety in Ireland
Analysis is based on the data from annual modules on Work-Related Accidents and Illness that are collected by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) as part of the Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS) and on data collected by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) on fatal and non-fatal injuries based on employers’ reports.

This is the third programme of work prepared by the Health and Safety Authority under its strategy for 2013 to 2015. The programme for 2015 has a significant level of continuity with previous years as we build on the groundwork and achievements of earlier programmes.
