Minister for Business and Employment Gerald Nash TD Launches Guidance for “Managing Health and Safety in Fishing”
The aim of the guidance is to raise awareness of health and safety and contribute to reducing the number of serious and fatal accidents that occur in fishing. The guidance will assist fishermen in assessing and controlling the risks associated with their work and to improve standards of health and safety within the sector.

Keep Safe Roadshow Comes to Monaghan School Children
More than 100 children from St. Louis N.S., Monaghan Town, St. Mary’s Boys N.S., Monaghan Town, St. Michael’s N.S., Corcaghan, Monaghan, St. Michael’s N.S., Rackwallace, Castleshane, and St. Mary’s N.S., Threemilehouse, Monaghan, have today (Tuesday 11 November) attended a Health and Safety Authority ‘Keep Safe’ event at Corcaghan Hall, Monaghan.

Community Service Ordered for Accident that Resulted in the Death of a Bar Worker
A Director and a Shareholder of a company were ordered to carry out 200 hours community service each, instead of a six-month jail sentence, by Judge Mary Ellen Ring in the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court following a breach of health and safety legislation.

Cross Border Construction Safety Seminar Hears Call for Increased Standards
The Cross Border Construction Safety seminar which took place in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan Town today (Thursday 16th October). The event was co-hosted by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and the Health and Safety Executive of Northern Ireland (HSENI) and focused on the key risk areas in both jurisdictions.

HSA Announces Annual Construction Competition for Third Level Construction Undergraduates
The Health and Safety Authority has today (Monday 13 September) announced details of its annual Safety and Health in Construction Competition 2014/2015 for undergraduates on Construction-related courses. The aim of the competition is to provide an environment where undergraduate students can collaborate and work together to enhance, develop and embed their knowledge and understanding of safety and health in construction.
