Health and Safety Authority secures High Court order prohibiting works at high-risk construction site in Kilcock, Co. Kildare
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has today (Wednesday 16th July) secured (on consent of the owner) a High Court order under Section 71 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, resulting in the immediate prohibition of the use of a construction site located at Bridge Street, Kilcock, Co. Kildare, until certain specified measures have been taken to reduce the serious risk to the safety, health and welfare of persons at the site.

Bellingham Farms Unlimited fined following fatal workplace incident in Co. Louth
Bellingham Farms Unlimited has been fined a total of €8,000 at Drogheda District Court for health and safety breaches following a fatal workplace incident in 2023.

Director Brian Kelly, along with his company Solar Power BK Limited, fined and given suspended jail sentence, following death of employee in workplace incident
Solar Power BK Limited was today, Tuesday 8th of July 2025 fined a total of €100,000 by Judge Dara Hayes at Dundalk Circuit Criminal Court, following a fatal work-related incident which occurred at Bellingham Farms at Milestown, Castlebellingham, Co. Louth on 14th of August 2023.

New national action plan launched to safeguard construction workers across Ireland
The Construction Safety Partnership Advisory Committee (CSPAC), an advisory committee to the Board of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), has today (8 July 2025) published its 2025 – 2027 Action Plan, developed to enhance occupational safety and health standards for those working in the construction sector.

HSA, RSA and Gardaí issue new safety guidance to support safer driving for work
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has today, Monday 7 July, published a new guidance document on driving for work. This guidance document has been jointly developed by An Garda Síochána, the Health and Safety Authority and the Road Safety Authority to help employers understand and manage the main risks that working drivers face and create when driving for work.

New action plan to target high level of farm deaths and injuries unveiled
The Farm Safety Partnership (FSPAC), an advisory committee to the Health and Safety Authority, has today (Wednesday 2nd July) launched the latest Farm Safety Action Plan 2025-2027, aimed at significantly reducing fatalities, injuries and occupational health issues in Ireland’s agricultural sector.

Waterford Company fined €150,000 after worker struck and killed by large portion of masonry from a wall
On Thursday 5th of June, at Waterford Central Court, Judge Eugene O'Kelly imposed a fine of €150,000 on Causeway Facilities Management Ltd. of Old Kilmeaden Road, Co. Waterford.
